(BEHOLD, I AM ABOUT TO SAY SOME SHIT ABOUT MASS EFFECT TWO)
If you played Mass Effect 2, you remember the scene when you go into the reaper for the first time, and they realize that the reaper, even though it's functionally dead, is actually mentally destroying the humans inside of the ship. The stories the two technicians told each other, and got into a fight about was one of the most memorable parts of the entire series to me. I loved the idea of the two of them sharing this memory, and the horror of the idea that we never knew which of the two of these flat characters was telling the truth, if either one of them were.
OTHER STUFF:
The lead synth that appears in this track is one of my favorite things that I've programmed, ever. And yes, it's a synth, and not a guitar.

On both Avalanche and the Whirlwind Remix particularly, Seeming manages the seemingly impossible feat of making it sound like there's 2 or 3 different songs going on simultaneously, in the best possible way. Such a huge spacious sound, and immaculate production and songwriting.
Also, I'm pretty sure Leonard Cohen would have heartily approved of this version of "Avalanche". <3 Conor Connolly
